TEMPLE, TX (February 6, 2025) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery.
At around 4:09 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th officers with the Temple Police Department were dispatched to the 6400 block of W. Adams Avenue for reports of an aggravated robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised an individual entered the shop and pointed a weapon at the clerk, stole a vape device, then left running eastbound on W. Adams Avenue.
Officers shared information of the description of the suspect over the radio, established a perimeter and an Unmanned Aerial System was deployed. Officers obtained information from neighbor’s regarding the last direction of travel of the suspect. This information was shared over the radio and the UAS operator was able to locate the individual near the 500 block of Brooks Drive. Officers detained him at the 500 block of Brooks Drive where they identified him as 18-year-old Lawrence Jones. Additional evidence of the crime was located at the scene.
Officers placed Mr. Jones under arrest for Aggravated Robbery and transported him to Bell County Jail.
No injuries have been reported at this time and there is no threat to the public.
