Temporary closure set to begin January 19
TEMPLE, TX (January 12, 2026) – UPDATE: Ongoing construction will require a temporary closure of North Pea Ridge Road, beginning Monday, January 19, and lasting approximately 4 months.
North Pea Ridge Road will be closed to through traffic between Prairie View Road and West Adams Avenue. Traffic will be detoured using Stone Valley Road, Westfield Boulevard, Prairie View Road, and West Adams Avenue, as shown on the attached detour map.
A designated school pick-up queue and parking area will be in place near Westfield Boulevard, with signage directing drivers to appropriate locations.
Drivers should use caution in the area and pay attention to all traffic control devices.

TEMPLE, TX (February 24, 2025) – UPDATE: The start of this closure has been postponed with the new expected start date set for Monday, March 3.
TEMPLE, TX (February 17, 2025) – As the city begins work on Phase 1 of the North Pea Ridge project, construction crews will be closing a portion of North Pea Ridge Road from Prairie View Road to Alabama Avenue beginning Monday, February 24. This closure is anticipated to last approximately 10 months.
Several detours will be available including via Stonehollow Drive and Westfield Blvd. Drivers should use caution in the area and pay attention to all signage and traffic control devices.
