Temporary closure set to begin March 17
TEMPLE, TX (March 27, 2025) – UPDATE: Due to weather, the estimated completion date of this project has been pushed to April 2.
TEMPLE, TX (March 14, 2025) – UPDATE: Due to a change in the traffic control plan, West Barton Avenue will now be closed for the duration of the project instead of converted to a one-way.
TEMPLE, TX (March 13, 2025) – Roof repairs at the Temple Public Library will require the temporary closure of North 1st Street starting March 17. The closure is expected to last through March 31.
During this time, West Barton Avenue will be converted to a one-way street between North 3rd Street and North 1st Street. Additionally, the West Adams Avenue sidewalk will be closed for the length of the library.
The Temple Public Library's first-floor parking lot will be unavailable for use throughout the project. However, visitors can still access the basement parking lot from North 3rd Street. The library's main entrance will also be closed, and guests should use the lower-level parking garage entrance for access into the building.
All library programming is expected to continue as scheduled.
Drivers should use caution in the area and follow all traffic control devices.
