Traffic diversion set to begin June 3
TEMPLE, TX (May 28, 2025) – UPDATE: Due to recent rain impacting construction, the start date for this traffic diversion has been rescheduled to Tuesday, June 3.
TEMPLE, TX (May 27, 2025) – UPDATE: Ongoing construction of this project will soon include a traffic diversion from existing Old Waco Road to the newly constructed lanes beginning May 29 and extending through approximately September 1.
This crossover will shift traffic onto newly constructed lanes beginning south of Riverside Trail and shifting back to existing Old Waco Road just north of Golden Heart Drive. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Old Waco Road throughout this construction.
The previously closed intersections of Riverside Trail and Golden Heart Drive will be reopened restoring access to Old Waco Road.
Crossover Map: Traffic will be shifted onto new lanes beginning south of Riverside Trail and back to the existing Old Waco Road north of Golden Heart Drive.
TEMPLE, TX (April 8, 2025) – UPDATE: Due to extensive weather days encountered on this project, these intersection closures have been extended and are estimated to remain in place through May 31, 2025.
TEMPLE, TX (January 27, 2025) – Ongoing reconstruction of Old Waco Road from Tarver Drive and Jupiter Drive to Riverside Trail will soon include temporary intersection closures of Riverside Trail and Dove Meadows Boulevard west of Old Waco Road beginning on February 3, 2025 and lasting through April 1, 2025.
These temporary closures will be detoured to South Pea Ridge via Poison Oak Road and the South Pea Ridge Connection at Old Waco Road. South Pea Ridge has multiple entry connections for residents unable to use the Old Waco Road intersections. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Old Waco Road throughout.
Old Waco Road in this area will remain open to through traffic and driveways will be accessible. Drivers should use caution in the area and pay attention to all traffic control devices.
