TEMPLE, TX (May 31, 2025) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault.
At around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, May 30, officers responded to the 400 block of Westfield Blvd for a shot disturbance. Contact was made with two victims, who advised that they were sitting in their car in the parking lot when a confrontation began with people in a black Jeep. Victims stated that a person exited the Jeep with a gun in his hand. A separate passenger, who also exited the Jeep, then took the gun and fired at the victim. The victim was carrying a concealed gun and shot back in reported self-defense. The Jeep left the scene prior to the officer's arrival.
Criminal Investigative staff responded to assist in the investigation. Evidence was collected at the scene, consisting of shell casings and projectiles.
No injuries were reported at this time.
