TEMPLE, TX (May 31, 2025) – The Temple Police Department conducted a felony warrant.
At around 2:53 p.m., on Saturday, May 31, officers conducted a felony warrant service for parole violation for a felony assault offence at the 200 block of S 25th Street for 44-year-old Matthew MacMann. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the individual, however, Mr. MacMann and the two individuals in the home refused to cooperate. Mr. MacMann and the two individuals barricaded themselves in the residence. Efforts to ask the individuals inside to come out of the residence were unsuccessful, and the Temple SWAT Team was called out to the scene.
Officers worked to secure the area, and the SWAT Team negotiators began to set up and make contact with Mr. MacMann. At this time, officers learned there was a canine inside, and Temple Animal Control was called to safely remove the canine from the scene.
At around 6:26 p.m., two occupants of the residence exited, leaving only Mr. MacMann inside. SWAT utilized chemical munitions and surveillance technology to search the residence. Mr. MacMann was not located in the main portion of the residence, but with further searching by a K9, it was determined that he had entered the attic. The surveillance technology was then used to search the attic, and he was located.
Mr. MacMann came down from the attic at 9:57 p.m. and was taken into custody.
Temple Police Department Units on scene include the SWAT Team, Negotiation Team, Criminal Investigations Division, K9 Unit, UAS Operators, Temple Animal Control, Temple EMS, and Temple Fire and Rescue.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
