TEMPLE, TX (June 26, 2025) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault.
At around 12:37 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, officers were dispatched to the 000 block of S 14th Street for reports of an individual on foot shooting at a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled on foot, and the victim fled the area in their vehicle. Officers located shell casings in the roadway and broken glass from a vehicle. At around 1:47 a.m., a suspect, Javare Sanders, was identified, located, and taken into custody. Mr. Sanders was transported to Bell County Jail. While at the jail, spent shell casings were located on Mr. Sanders.
No injuries have been reported at this time. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage, including a broken window.
The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating.
