TEMPLE, TX (June 26, 2025) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault.
At around 2:14 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, officers were dispatched to S 1st Street and W Avenue J for an aggravated assault. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who had been walking southbound when an individual in a vehicle shot at them. The victim advised officers that a red Ford Mustang had driven by and fired a weapon out of the vehicle at them.
One individual was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It was later learned that the vehicle used in the incident had been stolen out of Temple. Information was shared over the radio that a red Ford Mustang was involved in another incident later that morning, which the Bell County Sheriff’s Office and the Belton Police Department responded to. An affirmative link between the suspects and the suspect’s vehicle in these incidents has not been confirmed at this time.
The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating.
