TEMPLE, TX (July 16, 2025) – The Temple Police Department has identified the victim as 21- year-old Robert Vanpietersom from Temple, TX.
TEMPLE, TX (July 16, 2025) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that left one individual deceased.
At around 9:36 a.m., on Wednesday, July 16, officers were dispatched to Interstate 35 exit 305 northbound for a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle, which had left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar that holds a road sign. The vehicle then caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames. If you need to travel through this area, please exit before or at Interstate exit 304 northbound.
The single occupant of the vehicle has been pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Rosanne Fisher.
The Temple Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit will be on scene for several hours. During this time, traffic in this area will be closed off to normal traffic flow for several hours.
This case is under investigation, and no other information will be released at this time.
