The City of Temple Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to take part in Unplug Texas Day on Tuesday, October 21
Unplug Texas Day is an official statewide observance on October 21, encouraging Texans to log off, get outside, and reconnect with the world around them. As part of this statewide effort, the City of Temple is proud to participate by hosting a variety of free, family-friendly activities that invite residents to explore local parks, enjoy the outdoors, and celebrate the benefits of recreation and community connection.
Throughout the day, residents can participate in a variety of free, family-friendly activities across Temple. Start the morning with walking, hiking, or jogging along Wilson Park Trails from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or join outdoor fitness classes at the Summit Recreation Center, including strength and agility class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and PiYo from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Afternoon activities from 3 to 5 p.m. will include a Disc Golf Toss at Crossroads Disc Golf Course, Chalk and Bubble Play with Aquatics at South Temple Community Park, and Kite Flying or Art Activities with Sammons at Miller Park.
