TEMPLE, TX (November 7, 2025) – The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum, in partnership with the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum Foundation, will debut its new custom-ordered trackless train during the annual Santa at the Depot event on Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The new attraction was made possible through generous donations from local sponsors, including The McLane Group, Lengefeld Lumber Company, Aztec Pet Hospital, The Springer Foundation, and the Foundation board. The sponsors’ names will be proudly displayed on the train when it makes its first appearance.

Visitors attending "Santa at the Depot" can enjoy free train rides and free photos with Santa throughout the event.
This train will bring a new level of excitement to our family events and a new way to experience downtown Temple. Thank you to our local sponsors who made this project possible.
Elizabeth Page, City of Temple Director of Libraries and Museums
Following its debut, the trackless train will be available for use during special museum events. Beginning Friday, November 7 at 10 a.m., guests may make reservations to visit Santa by visiting templetx.gov/rrhm.
