City of Temple resident awarded recognition for 4th Annual Merry & Bright Holiday Lights Tour & Contest
TEMPLE, TX (December 19, 2025) — The City of Temple is thrilled to announce the conclusion of the 4th Annual Merry & Bright Holiday Lights Tour & Contest! Community voting officially closed Monday, December 15, at 8 a.m., and this year’s winner was John Petersen, who received 102 votes. The winning home, located at 6739 Misty Creek Lane, was recognized at the December 18 City Council meeting by Mayor Tim Davis.

From beautifully decorated homes to neighbors casting their votes, it’s inspiring to see the joy and holiday spirit shared across the city. With 33 homes participating this year, and over 500 total votes, the contest brought together neighbors and families to celebrate the holiday season and showcase the creativity and festive spirit of our community. Residents who were unable to see all of the decorated homes in person can still enjoy the interactive map of every participating house online at templetx.gov/holidaylights.
