TEMPLE, TX (January 25, 2026) – UPDATE: The Temple Police Department has identified the suspect involved as 31-year-old Jilberto Jaimes. Jaimes has also been charged with deadly conduct – habitation, a third-degree felony.
TEMPLE, TX (January 23, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a shots-fired call.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Canyon Creek Drive following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers identified a specific apartment unit where a suspect was barricaded. At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers made entry into the apartment and made direct contact with the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident for a violation of bond conditions.
The Temple Police Department is continuing its investigation into this incident to determine if any additional charges will be filed.
