TEMPLE, TX (January 30, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that occurred Friday afternoon.
At around 4:00 p.m., on Friday, January 30, officers located a traffic accident near S 1st and Ave M. Upon arrival, officers learned the driver struck another vehicle before continuing onto Veterans Affairs (VA) property, where the suspect crashed through a secured gate.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot; officers attempted to make contact and detain the suspect who then resisted. Officers deployed a taser and safely took the suspect into custody.
The injuries to the victim of the crash are unknown at this time.
