TEMPLE, TX (February 6, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a domestic dispute that resulted in an assault.
At around 1:55 p.m., on Friday, February 6, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Ferrara Circle for a domestic dispute, which turned into an assault. Dispatch advised two individuals had been assaulted, and the suspect had a knife. Upon arrival, officers located one of the victims leaving the residence and the suspect inside the residence. Officers learned the suspect is 34-year-old Jose Torres. Mr. Torres then exited the residence and began speaking with officers. During conversation, Mr. Torres became non-compliant, and a non-lethal bean bag round was fired. Mr. Torres then ran back inside the residence and barricaded himself.
Officers began evacuating the area, SWAT, a K9, and negotiators were called to the scene. At 2:52 p.m., Mr. Torres exited the residence, began approaching officers, and became non-compliant. Mr. Torres was tased and taken into custody for aggravated assault and family violence.
Two individuals sustained minor injuries. They were evaluated by EMS on scene. Mr. Torres has been transported to the hospital to be evaluated before being transported to Bell County Jail.
