TEMPLE, TX (February 19, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an accidental discharge of a firearm that left one individual injured.
At around 12:37 p.m., on Thursday, February 19, officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of S General Bruce Drive for an accidental discharge of a firearm. Officers were advised by dispatch that an individual just outside a store had accidentally discharged a firearm and struck himself in the leg. The individual then left the store. Officers located the individual nearby and administered medical attention until EMS arrived.
One individual sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. No other injuries have been reported at this time. There is no threat to the public.
This case is under investigation, and no other information will be released at this time.
