Event to be held April 18
TEMPLE, TX (April 10, 2026) – The City of Temple will be hosting a Bulky Item Disposal Event at the Solid Waste Complex, giving residents an additional opportunity to dispose of large household items that do not fit in regular trash collection.
WHAT: Bulky Item Disposal Event
WHEN: Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHERE: Temple Solid Waste Complex, located at 2611 E Avenue H
This event is open to Temple residential customers and will operate as a self-service, dumpster-style drop-off.
Upon arrival, residents will complete a brief check-in process and be asked to provide their address. Staff will verify eligibility for Temple Solid Waste services. Residents with a Belton address may still participate if they receive Temple utility and solid waste services.

Accepted Items:
- Refrigerators and other household appliances
- Mattresses
- General bulky household items
Items Not Accepted:
- Batteries
- Electronics
- Tires
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
- Brush (brush is accepted year-round Monday through Friday at the Solid Waste Complex)
This event is for residential use only and no commercial disposal will be permitted. As this is a self-service event, residents should be prepared to unload their own items. Boxes will be available on-site to assist with unloading if needed. There is no set item limit for this event.
This event will be offered twice a year to provide additional opportunities for residents to dispose of bulky items outside of the monthly bulky item pickup program.
