TEMPLE, TX (April 23, 2026) – The Temple Police Department, following further investigation, placed 43-year-old Rafael Mason Jr. under arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported him to Bell County Jail.
TEMPLE, TX (April 22, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that left one individual injured.
At around 7:19 p.m., on Wednesday, April 22, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Piedmont Street for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers learned one individual had sustained a gunshot wound following an altercation. At around 7:23 p.m., officers detained the suspect, a 43-year-old male, and transported him to the Temple Police Department for further investigation.
One individual was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported at this time, and there is no threat to the public.
The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division will be on scene investigating.
