TEMPLE, TX (May 29, 2026) – Celebrate the start of the Temple Public Library's 2026 Summer Reading Program with a party at the library on Saturday, June 6, from 9 to 11 a.m.

This free, family-friendly event is open to the public and will feature games, bounce houses, snacks from the library's Dig Café, door prizes and a Community Geodes Art Project for guests to contribute to. There will also be a Triassic-ally Cool Fossil Dig Adventure Show presented by Bestie Wonderland at 9 a.m.
The fun will fill all three floors of the library and spill into the parking lot, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. Several special guests will also be joining the fun, including the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum, bringing a ride-on train for kids.
The Summer Reading Program provides a variety of initiatives for children, teens and adults. Each age group has different incentives and prizes for reading a certain amount of books or logging reading time. Party attendees can sign up on-site, pick up a Summer Reading Guide and learn how to earn rewards for their summer reads.
In addition to the reading program, the library will host a variety of free events throughout the summer. Highlights include the Summer Meals Program and Sing Along with Sue Young.
