Road closure set to begin May 12
TEMPLE, TX (May 5, 2026) – Reconstruction of 4th Street and Avenue A, from 6th Street to the Alley between 2nd and 4th Street, will soon include a road closure beginning Tuesday, May 12. This closure is estimated to last through Friday, November 6.
To navigate this closure, traffic will be detoured to 2nd Street and 6th Street for 4th Street construction and Central Avenue and Avenue B for Avenue A construction.
Parking in the downtown area will remain open outside the construction area and pedestrian access to all businesses will be maintained.
Drivers should use caution in the area and pay attention to all traffic control devices.
