TEMPLE, TX (May 29, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating harassment directed toward the members of the Temple’s City Council, which resulted in the arrest of one individual.
On Thursday, May 21, officers began investigating a threat the department received after information was shared online regarding statements that were determined to be threatening in nature and attempting to incite violence. The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division began working to investigate and identify the individual involved.
On May 28, 2026, the Temple Police Department, with the assistance of the Pflugerville Police Department and Austin Police Department officers, located 38-year-old Isaac Smith, arrested him for 42.07(c) Harassment, and transported him to Travis County Jail.
The Temple Police Department respects the public’s right to express its opinions and participate in civic discourse and protests. However, threats of inciting violence or harm directed toward any individual will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
