TEMPLE, TX (June 23, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that left one individual injured.
At around 12:40 a.m., on Tuesday, June 23, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Marlandwood Road for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who advised officers that they had heard a loud noise coming from the apartment upstairs. When the victim went to check on the noise, they observed the second-floor apartment door open. The suspect then saw the victim, walked out of the apartment, fired a handgun, and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’ 3” to 5’ 5”, thin build, with short hair.
One individual was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division will be on scene investigating.
