New interactive experience encourages travelers to explore and stay longer in Temple
TEMPLE, TX (June 25, 2026) — Discover Temple has launched a new interactive visitor kiosk inside Buc-ee’s in Temple, creating a unique opportunity to connect millions of travelers with local attractions, restaurants, events, shopping, and overnight accommodations.
Funded through the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Fund, the $10,730 kiosk serves as a digital gateway to Temple and is strategically located inside one of the city's busiest visitor destinations. The kiosk features Discover Temple branding, rotating digital screensavers, and direct access to the Discover Temple website, allowing travelers to easily explore everything the community has to offer while already stopped in Temple.
According to Placer.ai data, Temple’s Buc-ee’s welcomed approximately 7.5 million visitors over the past 12 months, with visitors spending an average of 21 minutes at the location. Discover Temple identified this high-traffic destination as an ideal location to engage travelers.
"Every day, thousands of travelers stop in Temple, and many are looking for places to eat, explore, shop, or spend the night. This kiosk allows us to meet visitors where they already are and introduce them to the experiences that make Temple a destination worth exploring.”
Teresa Anderson, City of Temple Convention & Tourism Division Director
The interactive kiosk allows visitors to:
- Discover local attractions and museums
- Explore restaurants, breweries, and shopping destinations
- Find upcoming events and entertainment opportunities
- Learn about Temple’s history and culture
- Locate parks, trails, and outdoor recreation opportunities
- Connect directly with Discover Temple tourism resources
Unlike traditional tourism marketing efforts that focus on attracting visitors before they arrive, the Buc-ee’s kiosk captures travelers who are already in Temple and encourages them to extend their stay and explore the community.
