TEMPLE, TX (July 8, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is currently investigating a traffic crash that left one individual injured and one individual deceased.
At around 8:02 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, officers were dispatched to the area of Logistics Way and NE HK Dodgen Loop for a crash. Upon arrival, officers learned a motorcycle and a vehicle had collided. Preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was traveling westbound attempting to make a left turn, and the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when they collided.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The rider of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital and later declared deceased upon arrival by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey. No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The Temple Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit will be on scene investigating for some time. Please use an alternate route if you need to travel through this area.
