Ceremony to be held on Wednesday, September 30
TEMPLE, TX (September 23, 2026) – The City of Temple is hosting its 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Ceremony to acknowledge and explore how Hispanic culture has impacted the community, and honor local Hispanic leaders and residents.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 30, at 3 p.m.
WHERE: Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center, located at 3303 N 3rd St.
In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place from September 15 through October 15, the City of Temple is celebrating the Hispanic culture and leadership that has impacted and influenced the community.
The annual event will feature a proclamation by Mayor Tim Davis and a keynote speech by Fire Chief Christopher Perez, highlighting the importance and meaning of Hispanic Heritage.
This ceremony is a chance for our community to recognize and honor the Hispanic heritage of our city. We recognize the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino families here in Temple, and come together to celebrate the diversity that makes our city so special."

The event will also feature a Mariachi performance to showcase the rich colors, flavors, history, traditions, and music that are woven into the fabric of Temple’s culture, along with traditional Hispanic desserts for guests to enjoy.
This event is free and open to the public.
