TEMPLE, TX (February 13, 2026) – The Temple Public Library has been awarded the 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA), recognizing the library’s commitment to outstanding public service and community impact.
Of the 516 public library systems in Texas, only 101 libraries earned this year’s award, placing Temple Public Library in the top 20 percent statewide. The Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award honors libraries that demonstrate excellence across multiple areas, including innovative programming, outreach to underserved populations, workforce support and meaningful community partnerships.
Temple Public Library remains a cornerstone for literacy, lifelong learning, and community connection. This year, more than 183,000 visitors engaged in 770 programs, with circulation exceeding 368,000 items. From lending blood pressure kits to offering online author talks and neighborhood outreach, the library continues expanding access to literacy, wellness, and opportunity.
