TEMPLE, TX (May 22, 2026) – The Temple Police Department has submitted charges to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office against 34-year-old Michael Robbins for abandoning or endangering a child with intent, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence under Texas Penal Code 22.041(f), and abandoning or endangering a child with intent under Texas Penal Code 22.041(d)(1).
The Temple Police Department also submitted charges against 68-year-old John Robbins for abandoning or endangering a child with intent, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence under Texas Penal Code 22.041(f), and abandoning or endangering a child with intent under Texas Penal Code 22.041(d)(1).
At this time, the Bell County District Attorney’s Office has accepted the charges in this case.
TEMPLE, TX (May 20, 2026) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a welfare concern that resulted in the arrest of two individuals on child endangerment charges.
At approximately 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Young Avenue after a caller reported a foul odor coming from the neighbor’s residence, and having not seen the neighbor recently. The caller advised concern for the elderly neighbor who lived there. Officers arrived, confirmed the odor, and entered the residence, locating two children and two adults inside.
Officers observed living conditions inside the residence that were determined to be unsafe for the children. Child Protective Services and the Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Both adult males in the residence have been transported to Bell County Jail for child endangerment.
The two children were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
The Temple Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Scene Investigators, Patrol, Temple Fire and Rescue, and Child Protective Services will be in the area for some time investigating this case.
