The shelter is offering $5 adoptions as part of the national campaign
TEMPLE, TX (July 31, 2026) – Heart to Home Animal Adoption Center is participating in Clear the Shelters, a national campaign by NBCUniversal Local aimed at promoting pet adoptions. The campaign runs all month long, with NBC and Telemundo stations partnering with shelters across the nation to promote pet adoption.
Clear the Shelters helps bring awareness to the numerous animals in our shelters looking for loving homes. This campaign allows residents and community members to come into the shelter, connect with pets and take advantage of the $5 adoption special.
Amy Strunk, Animal Services Manager
Throughout the month of August, Temple residents can support Clear the Shelters by participating in Heart to Home's adoption promotion: $5 adoptions on all animals.
Residents are invited to visit Heart to Home, located at 620 Mama Dog Cir., during regular business hours to visit with adoptable animals. The shelter is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. To complete the adoption process, residents need to bring a photo ID and proof of current address.
