TEMPLE, TX (September 10, 2026) - The City of Temple Solid Waste Department is hosting its semi-annual Bulky Item Disposal Day next week. This event offers an additional opportunity for residents to dispose of bulk items outside of the monthly bulky item pickup program.
WHAT: Bulky Item Disposal Day
WHEN: Saturday, September 19, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHERE: Solid Waste Complex, located at 2611 E Avenue H
Upon arrival, residents will check in and staff will direct them through the unloading process. Residents are asked to bring help to unload large or heavy items into the provided dumpsters.
Bulky item disposal often presents obstacles to residents as they are unsure how to get rid of bulky items or where they are accepted. We hope that by offering this event we are mitigating that issue and providing an accessible solution to our community.

- Appliances
- Mattresses
- Furniture
Items not accepted at this event:
- Batteries
- Electronics
- Tires
- Brush (Brush is accepted year-round at the Solid Waste Complex during regular business hours.)
This event is free to Temple residents. Proof of residency will be requested at check-in.
