Temple Fire and Rescue responds to afternoon house fire, with injuries
Temple, Texas (May 9, 2025) - UPDATE: The occupant pulled from the fire on Wednesday afternoon has succumbed to their injuries.
Temple, Texas (May 7, 2025) – At 4:23 p.m. Temple Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a structure fire at 3011 Hickory Rd. First arriving crews found a single-story residential structure, with heavy smoke and flames coming from the front and back of the residence. Approximately 3 minutes from the time of dispatch crews had already begun extinguishing the fire. Crews quickly located one occupant of the home, inside a back bedroom with 3 canines. All were removed from the structure, as crews continued to fight the blaze. The occupant was transported to the ER with life-threatening injuries. All 3 canines perished due to their sustained injuries. No other persons were injured during this incident. Temple Fire and Rescue responded with 15 Units, and 29 personnel. Also on scene were Temple Police Department, Temple EMS, and Temple Animal Services. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and currently being investigated by the Temple Fire Marshals Office.
