TEMPLE, TX (October 2, 2026) – October is National Fire Prevention Month, a campaign focused on raising fire safety awareness and educating communities on protecting homes and families.
Temple Fire & Rescue encourages residents to partipate in National Fire Prevention Month by learning more about how fires start and how to respond. With an emergency plan in place, you are better prepared in the case of a fire-related emergency.

In recognition of National Fire Prevention Month, Temple firefighters will visit local schools, educating children on fire safety, prevention tips and responding to an emergency situation.
Additionally, Temple Fire & Rescue will host their annual Fire Safety Day.
WHAT: Fire Safety Day
WHEN: Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Temple Central Fire Station, located at 210 N 3rd St.
This family-friendly event is free to attend and will include games, activities, safety demonstrations and an opportunity to see fire trucks up close.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for fires and other emergencies by creating an emergency plan. Fire prevention and safety information can be found on the Temple Fire & Rescue website, templetx.gov/fire.
