1400 Homes without power.
Temple, Texas (July 24, 2025) - This afternoon at 5:15pm Temple Fire and Rescue responded to the area of 603 S 16th Street. Witnesses reported a loud pop and smoke coming from a large transformer, followed by loss of power to the area.
Fire Crews arrived on scene and did confirm a large service transformer had become inoperable. Crews also ensured no fire danger was present. Oncor has been notified of the outage, and has been dispatched to repair the outage. An estimated 1400 homes have been affected by this incident. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Temple Fire and Rescue responded with 3 Units and 8 personnel. Also on scene were Officers with Temple PD. This incident is ongoing, an estimated time for return of power has not yet been confirmed.
