TEMPLE, TX (September 4, 2026) – September is National Preparedness Month, a national campaign aimed at equipping individuals, families and communities for natural and man-made disasters. On Thursday, September 3, Mayor Tim Davis issued a proclamation in honor of National Preparedness Month to Temple Fire & Rescue.
Temple Fire & Rescue encourages residents to engage in National Preparedness Month by preparing for emergencies before they happen. With a plan in place, you are better prepared to get yourself and your family to safety in an emergency.

Residents can find preparedness resources on the Stay Safe Temple webpage, including flash flood information, emergency kit guidelines, severe weather information and more. Additionally, residents can sign up for Alert Temple, the City's emergency alert notification system.
In honor of National Preparedness Month, Temple Fire & Rescue, Emergency Management Division, is partnering with Central Counties Services to lead an emergency preparedness lesson for the community.
WHAT: Together Today, Ready Tomorrow
WHEN: Tuesday, September 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.
WHERE: Temple Fire Training Center, located at 7268 Airport Road
Attendees will learn how to prepare themselves, their families and their neighborhoods for emergencies through exploring local risks, disaster preparedness strategies and ways to cope with disaster-related stress.
We hope that by engaging the community in this preparedness seminar, they are better prepared to handle emergencies when they occur. You never know when simple training can have a significant impact.
