TEMPLE, TX (July 22, 2025) – The City of Temple’s Purchasing Division has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) Award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).
This honor recognizes public and nonprofit agencies that demonstrate excellence in procurement by embracing innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership, and e-procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award encourages continuous organizational improvement and reflects a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards in public procurement.
For 2025, there were 216 successful applicants across the U.S. and Canada, including 85 cities, 48 counties, 23 special districts, 26 school districts, 15 higher education agencies, seven state or provincial agencies, and 12 other organizations.

The AEP Award is sponsored by the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI), along with leading industry organizations such as the California Association of Public Procurement Officials (CAPPO), Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC), Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials (FAPPO), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, and the Texas Public Purchasing Association (TxPPA).
